The art of playing dress-up

Bibby,
Today you BEGGED for Emily to come home with us. I got to school a little early and you two had congured up the plan for Em to come over, which I honestly never mind. You two play really well together and she is never a minute of trouble. After school her mom brought her over and you both wanted to dress up. You got your outfits all completed. It is so funny to watch you and Emily told you that princesses always wear their hair down so of course your ponytail immediately comes down. You then tell Em that she really needed a hat with her outfit and of course she put one on. I can just picture you two getting dressed 10 years from now talking about what purse will complete your outfit. Anyway, you then wanted the "real" make-up. Not the pretend stuff that doesn't really stick. Of course Momo and Birdie have stocked us full of "real" make-up that I strategically keep above the washer and dryer so their is no possible way you can get in to it (today I was reminded why I do this). You started putting the make-up on each other after envisioning what my rug was going to end up looking like I took on the role. You did do your own nails. You also gave sleeping beauty a lovely new look. You were so precious and very much in to me taking pictures. I loved it because you were so dolled up but wanted to dig up rocks and dirt in the back yard. I love the innocence that you possess. I love the excitement when I tell you we CAN get down the REAL make-up. The was you have to put make up on the sleeping beauty doll because she is your "sister." Thank goodness Virginia was still asleep. I love nothing more than watching you use your imaginations. Virginia, you are really starting to use yours as well. Tonight you were the mouse chasing Tinkerbell (well, that is the story according to Bibby) and you were on your hands and knees squeeking. At lunch today it was a kitty cat. Your personality grows daily. You have a hilarious, quirky side that is keeping your father and I in stitches. I am having a hard time getting on to you because when I try you cut your eyes or do something really dramatic then look up and start laughing.

The Chief and her little squall(er)

Girls,
We are all suffering today from a candy hangover. You two had an absolute blast last night and were the two cutest Indians I have ever seen. Virginia, you finally got the concept of taking candy and putting it in your bag and continuing on. At the church trunk-or-treat you would get a piece of candy and immediately want it open and if we wouldn't open it for you (because you already had a sucker in each hand) you would fall on the ground and have a mini come-apart and the get back up and go to the next car only to repeat the process. Bibby, you were really timid at first about going to the door and especially didn't want to get on the hay ride but of course by the end of the night and with some great coaching from dad you became a trick-or-treating pro. I decided at the beginning of the night that all your dad and I were going to hear was, "Can I have another piece of candy?" We let you know that it was a free-for-all, that on this one night only you could eat as much candy as you possibly wanted......and you did! We had a ball. We went to two parties and didn't get home until 10:00......only after daddy and Virginia went on the longest hay ride ever....led by Mr.Jason from MoMo's house past Eastwood to Pointe Mallard waterpark and back. You loved it! We had to explain to you, Bibby on the way home from church why we couldn't go up to peoples houses again tonight and trick-or-treat. You were ready to go again........Mommy and Dad need a year to recover!

Fall Festival

Bopper,
Today was your last fall festival. You have been really excited and wanted so badly for Virginia to come. I thought it was so sweet how you had been building the day up to her. You still talk in a baby voice when you are explaining things to her. I love to watch you do that now because she listens so intently to you and answers you back. She was such a booger at the festival and once she got her hands on some pink playdo all she wanted was to sit and pinch it off and wipe it on the concrete. When I would move her to the next activity she would yell, "Playdo, right now!" Bibby you had a big time and when you would win a prize you would pick one out for Virginia as well.

Donuts with Dad

Bibby,

Last week was your LAST donuts with Dad. I can't believe it and neither can your Dad. He said he really thought that you knew it was your last one as well because you were unusually shy. You both had a good time and Dad said you drew a great picture of him that your teachers are going to put in a book at the end of the year. Of course he is not byassed but he said your drawing was one of the best in the class. Is it bad that I had to choke back the tears because it was the last one??

Pumpkin Patch

Girls,
Has this ever been a weekend. Dad went to Kentucky to see Bama play and in the mean time the three of us went to the fair, a birthday party, the pumpkin patch and another football party. You both slept in the latest you ever have this morning. I didn't carry my camera to anything but the patch but oh how I wish I had it at the fair. We had to pay (well Papa did) a blooming fortune to get in because it was midnight madness and I was leery that you two wouldn't ride anything but you proved me wrong, well at least you did, Bibby. Virginia, I would love to have captured your face you were so excited, squealing and squeezing your little shoulders together. You would point at a ride and say it over and over, "Choo-choo train, choo-choo train," but when we would get to it and I would ask you if you wanted to ride, "No" was all I got. We did climb all the way up on of those slides that you use a potato sack and slide down and when we got to the top you started saying, "home, home, home" but by this point we were at the top and there were people behind us so I slid on down and your entire body went tense and you let out one long scream then kept telling me, "no-no mommy," afterwards. You really did love everything....except the rides. You were perfectly content to run from place to place looking at the lights and petting the animals and playing the go-fish game. Bibby, you made the entire trip worth every penny when Papa took you down the slide on his lap and you hopped up saying, "that was the most fun thing I have ever done, ever!!!" You two probably slid a half a dozen times. After going for ice cream you two hit the sack....hard. The next morning we went to a fun 1st birthday that was a puppy theme...you two loved it. From there we drove to Meridianville to Tate farms to the pumpkin patch. We met our cousins, the Holders from Scottsboro. Bibby, you and Alex are just two months apart and we rarely get to see them but when you do you two play great together. We really missed Dad being there but you two had so much fun. Virginia, I would say your favorite thing to see was definitely the bunnies. We would head to another activity then you would turn around and bolt back to the petting zoo. Bibby, you loved it all....playing in the corn, the hayride and all the playground equipment. You two picked out your own pumpkins and we cut them straight from the vine. We had such a fun day, that was topped off with another football party and I let you stay until 10, which I have never done. You both slept the longest you ever have the next morning. It was one of those weekends I never wanted to end....but we were glad Dad got back.

This little piggy....

was so proud of herself in her new piggie dress. Virginia, you LOVE your new dress and think that you are so cute in it.....of course I concur. I could eat you alive these days. You are in one of my most favorite stages of all. Where you speak in two or maybe three word increments and start to get a little sass but have just enough baby in you that everything you do cracks me up. Your phrase of the day is, "No, No Bibby!" You say it before she even gets to you while sticking out your lips and cutting your eyes. You also love to say that everyone is either silly or crazy..you walk around saying, "Mommy siddy, Daddy siddy, MoMo siddy."Please don't get any bigger....OK??
