Octumom and the artist

Girls,
We have had a tough couple of weeks. Pop and Grandaddy have both been in the hospital all week. I have been going back and forth to Nashville and Huntsville and you two have been tossed around all week so it was good to hang out this afternoon. Bibby, you are really in to playing "Mommy and grandma." We do that quite a bit these days. You speak to me in a really grown up voice when we play and whenever you are addressing me say, "my darling." Today we were in the driveway and you were the mom and the Sunday school teacher. We drew on the driveway as our "lesson." You are very in to pretend these days. You and MoMo made bread dough ornaments to go on the Easter tree that we made. You took the job of painting these very seriously. You are really soaking up life. You said in the car the other night, "Mom, I love you so much I could just cry!" I looked over at your dad and about did. Virginia, we have been calling you the "octumom." Like the crazy lady that just had octuplets you are completely obsessed with babies. You will be playing and will realize you don't have one around you and will look up from what you are doing, start saying, "baby" and won't stop until you have one....or five. You are so much fun right now. I can't tell that cognitively you have really changed this past month. You follow (almost) all commands and know exactly what we are talking about. In public you act really shy. Especially around men and put your head down on my shoulder but at home you are a wild woman. Just today Bibby had the fridge open to get out her drink and when I turned around you had popped the top to the flip-top mayo container and had hand fulls of mayonnaise. I gagged. We have really done a lot these past couple of weeks. Yesterday we drove to the Chattanooga Aquarium and today we had your pictures made. This spring weather has been wonderful. We are going to have a ball this summer.

"The best day of my life"

Bibby,
You stated tonight at bedtime that this was the "best day of my life." We woke up this morning to SNOW!!!! You were beside yourself and could not wait to get out and play in it. I layered you up and you and Daddy went out and built a snowman. He was maybe only two feet tall but you loved it. Shelby walked by and ate his nose (carrot) and you thought that was the funniest thing you have ever seen. You kept saying, "Daddy, make me a snowball so I can throw it at you!" After all of the snow throwing you came in and defrosted before heading off to the circus. Daddy took you and I really think it is a day he will never forget. He texted me and said, "She is the cutest thing ever." It is so much fun to watch you, watching things for the first time. He said you were completely amazed with everything. You like the trapeze girls the best and came home jumping and pretending to swing around. Dad bought you a 20 dollar light up wand, a 12 dollar bag of cotton candy and a nine dollar snow cone and let you eat every bite. I can't believe I didn't send him with a camera but I honestly don't think he will ever forget the look on you face. To top it all off you got to bury dad in pillows. I mean you were on on top of the world.

Virginia,
You did NOT have the best day of your life......poor baby. You woke up with 101 fever. I took you to the doctor and you had to be tested for RSV and flu. Thank goodness it was only an ear infection but it has been a bad one. You were pitiful. We got lots of good cuddling time. I promise you will have your best day ever soon!!
