Sweet sounds of Summer

Girls,
This summer has already been a lot of fun for us. I always love getting with our friends or "buddies" as you call them Bibby, but sometimes there is nothing like the days with just us. We went to the splash pad the other day and Bibby, you LOVED it. Virginia, you had a good time in your rigged up shade that I made just sitting back and watching everyone run. The quote of the day was from you Bibby; "When I get home I am going to ask my Dada to build one of these in our backyard." I love that you think he can do anything. You had such a great time tip-toeing in and running while squealing at the top of your lungs when the water squirted.

Another absolute favorite of both of yours is swinging. Virginia, the very first time you ever laughed was on a swing and your were doing your priceless chuckle again today. Bibby, you always sing this song, "Swing, swing, Mary Bibb swing, Mary Bibb swing all day." It is adorable and I hope I never forget your precious voice.

I love you two "goober guses" (that is what we have been calling each other lately)

Baby bird

Virginia,
I had to document this. I get this exact look everytime I walk in to your room to get you out of bed. This morning I got it at 3:30, 6:00 and 8:00 but that's OK if I am greeted with my baby bird. You have just figured out that if you push up as hard as you can then you can barely peek over the rail. You are straining so hard that your little head wobbles around and you honestly look like the baby dove's that are in our back yard. I love you and hope to have this imagine forever etched in my mind anytime I need a smile.

Father's Day in more ways than one....

Virginia,

Today is Father's Day and it is also the day that we promised you to our heavenly Father. You could not have been more of an angel. You sat quietly and sucked your thumb while I held you through the service while Dad held Bibby. Pop took you and you just looked at the congregation in your usual relaxed way. Daddy, Bibby, you and I left after the ceremony to go home and get ready for lunch. I put you down for a nap but of course your were missing your party so Papa and MoMo felt you should get up. In your usual fashion got up happy and smiling. The whole day was really sweet. Your daddy was so proud to have you baptised on Father's Day and I hope that he and I can uphold the commitment we made to teach you all about our heavenly Father. We love you.

Girls.......brace yourselves

Grandad's quote:"Dave, she may not have been the best, but she was the last."

Mary Bibb and Virginia,

It's official you are about to have one of the most fun, crazy uncles I could have ever envisioned for you. I have already been calling him "Uncle Dave" to you for weeks now. Dave and Birdie have only dated 6 or 7 months but I have never seen your Birdie happier. Uncle Dave popped the big question and got a limo to come to our house where I had invited the rest of the unexpecting family over for dinner and he and Birdie came and surprised everyone. Being the family that we are, we couldn't let them drive around alone and all piled in the limo. Bibby, you thought it was the coolest thing ever and they asked you to be their flower girl! Virginia, you blew out your diaper. Poor Dave is in love if he is willing to join this crew. He is so good to you girls and loves you so much. I can't wait to see what is in store for their lives. I love the fact that neither of you will ever remember your lives without your Uncle Dave in it!

my cupcake

Bibby,

One of our favorite things to do is make cupcakes. We always make Daddy's favorite strawberry with cream cheese icing. We, of course, both love them also. You are hilarious shaking the sprinkles and just talking while you sit on the counter. Today you bit through the wrapper. We made them to celebrate Aunt Birdie's engagement. She even stopped by during the baking but had no idea what they were for. Good thing I didn't tell you either, like your aunt you are not the best secret keeper and are an easy bribe.

heart

Virginia,

I just wanted to let you know at this very moment that you are my heart. I was thinking about how Bibby and I have been telling each other, "I love you like a rock" and I wanted you to know I love you that way as well. Sometimes I have guilty feelings since I don't get to hold and love on you the way I did your sister but you are so content at just watching me. Your smile is the most unbelievable sight I have ever seen. When I hear you stirring in the morning I get excited to walk in your room. You are on your tummy and I can barely see the top of your head pop up when I start to talk to you. You never wake crying, just talking and happy. I feel like I had so much anticipation about having two little ones that God gave me the sweetest most precious baby he had. I took you to the doctor today because you have been pulling at your ear and I was just positive you had an ear infection---nope---he said you just found your ear and were intelligent to do so. You weighed 19 pounds 12 ounces today! I love these pictures of you. This is just an example of the response I get when I walk up to you and smile
